When is PKDW's open house for the 2012-13 application season?

  • The open house will be in the orange PKDW buildings on the corner of 20th and Missouri.
  • Please join us to hear more about our program and our planned expansion to Third Street. 
  • There will be no childcare provided. We request that you do not bring your children since we have a small space and many families interested in our program. Bring your partner or a friend if you like and trade-off child watching while playing outside on the playground. 
  • Presentations will be given every half hour starting at 10:00am. 
  • No need to RSVP - We look forward to seeing you on the 23rd! 
     

  • Will there be other open houses?

Due to an overwhelming number of families on our waitlist and limited number of open spots, this will be the only open house offered this application/admissions season. Once we have more information regarding the opening of our new facility on Third Street, we will schedule another open house for our waitlist families.

  • What if I am unable to attend the open house on October 23, 2011?

Attending the open house does not help nor hinder your application status. This is simply the one open house we are able to offer during our application process. Many families are on our waitlist without attending an open house and make their final decision during our application process in the winter.

  • How many spots will there be open at PKDW for the 2012-13 school year?

Currently, our program accommodates 38 children (42 with part-time student schedules). Once we confirm the opening of our new facility on Third Street, we will have a better understanding on the number of new students we can enroll.

If the age, gender and requested schedule (part-time vs. full-time) of your child matches our needs for the upcoming school year, you will be invited in mid January to participate in our interview process that takes place in early February. We will begin by inviting 15 families that match our needed combinations to participate in this interview/tour round. Potential matches and interest from families will determine how far down the waitlist we will need to go. Admission acceptance letters will be e-mailed by mid March.  

Please note that to keep costs manageable, we have a small administrative team and cannot accommodate inquiries as to your chances. We are happy to give you insight during our open house, but kindly request that you wait to receive an invitation to participate in our next round by mid-late January.

If you are no longer interested in the program or if you preference for FT/PT has changed, please let us know so we can make that note.
